The mounting method is one of the most important differences between permanent lighting brands. Here is why hat track is superior.

Aluminium hat track

A low-profile aluminium channel is mounted to the fascia. One side tucks inside the bottom of the soffit, the other is screwed in securely.

Screwed, not glued

Screws provide a permanent mechanical connection. Adhesive tape and clips fail over time due to UV, temperature cycling, and wind stress.

Wind resistant

Calgary Chinook winds can exceed 100 km/h. Screwed track does not move, rattle, or come loose. Adhesive-mounted systems can peel off.

No fascia damage

The track sits flush and distributes load evenly. Small screws create minimal penetration compared to the nail holes from temporary light clips.

Weatherproof mounting

The track creates a sealed channel that protects wire runs and LED connections from direct weather exposure.

LEDs click in

Once the track is mounted, individual LED pucks click into the channel. They are held securely but can be removed for service without tools.
