How permanent lights handle extreme weather
Calgary winters are harsh. Permanent lighting systems must withstand everything Alberta can throw at them.

Minus 40°C rated
All components are rated for operation down to minus 40°C. This covers the coldest Calgary temperatures with margin to spare.

Heavy snow loads
The aluminium hat track is mounted to the fascia with screws. Snow sits on top of the roofline, not on the track, so snow loads are not an issue.

Ice and freeze-thaw
IP68 sealing prevents moisture from entering LED modules or connections. When water freezes and expands, it cannot damage sealed components.

No cracking or brittling
The track and LED housings are designed for thermal cycling. Unlike cheap plastics that crack in cold, these materials maintain integrity.

Wind resistance
The hat track is screwed into the fascia, not clipped or glued. Chinook winds and winter storms cannot dislodge it.

The system runs the same in January as it does in July. Cold weather does not affect brightness, colour accuracy, or responsiveness.
