Common problems & fixes

Before anything else, confirm the control box has power and that your phone and controller are on the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network — this clears up the majority of app and connection issues. Find your problem below for the fastest fix.

GOULY app won't connect / can't find the controller

The controller must be on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network — it cannot join a 5 GHz-only band. Confirm the control box has power, then keep your phone close to the controller during pairing. If the control box is far from your router, a Wi-Fi extender placed near it resolves most range and pairing problems.

Permanent lights won't turn on

Check that the control box has power and the breaker feeding it hasn't tripped. Open the GOULY app and confirm your schedule or timer isn't set to off. If power is present and the schedule looks right, power-cycle the controller and try again.

GOULY Wi-Fi keeps dropping / shows offline

A weak 2.4 GHz signal at the control box is the usual cause of an offline controller. Add a Wi-Fi extender near the control box and avoid mesh nodes that broadcast only on 5 GHz. Keeping the controller firmware up to date in the app also improves connection stability.

Lights on the wrong schedule after a time change

Re-open the GOULY app and confirm your sunset/sunrise or timer schedule. A daylight-saving change can offset your schedule until the app re-syncs the correct time. Once the app reconnects and updates, the lights return to the expected on/off times.

One section or some pucks aren't lighting

Each module in your run is individually addressable, so a single dark section usually points to one connection rather than a whole-system failure. This is a serviceable issue — contact us and we'll inspect and repair that run under your warranty.

Alexa or Google Home not working with GOULY

Confirm the controller has power and is connected to your 2.4 GHz network. Then open the Alexa or Google Home app and make sure the GOULY skill or action is still linked to your account. Re-linking the skill and re-discovering devices restores voice control.

Music sync isn't working

Music sync uses your phone's microphone, so grant microphone permission to the GOULY app in your phone settings. Keep the phone near the music source so it can pick up the audio. Once permission is granted and the app can hear the sound, the lights react in time.
