Quick Answer

Yes, Number One Lights has a business license to operate.

Licensed business

Why a business license matters when hiring a permanent lighting installer

A business license is the minimum standard for a legitimate operation. Here is why you should always verify.

Legal operation

A business license confirms that the company is legally registered and authorized to conduct business in its municipality.

Tax compliance

Licensed businesses are registered with the government for tax purposes. This protects you from dealing with an unlicensed operator.

Consumer protection

Licensed businesses are subject to consumer protection regulations. If something goes wrong, you have legal recourse.

Insurance eligibility

Many insurance policies require work to be done by licensed businesses. Using an unlicensed installer could void coverage.

Accountability

A licensed business has a registered address, registered owners, and accountability to regulatory bodies. This is your protection.

Red flag check

If a permanent lighting company cannot show a business license, WCB, and liability insurance, they are likely operating illegally.
