A standard household outlet is all that is required.
Simple power requirements
The GOULY system plugs into a standard outlet and converts household power to low-voltage DC. Everything on your roofline runs at safe 24V. Here are the specifics.
The control box plugs into a regular household outlet, the same type used for lamps and phone chargers. A garage outlet or exterior outlet works perfectly. No special receptacle required.
A full roofline of Gen 3 RGBW LED pucks draws 50-150 watts depending on home size and brightness. That is less power than a single incandescent light bulb. Your existing 15A circuit handles it easily.
The UL/cUL certified control box (File E483482) converts 120V AC to 24V DC using a Class 2 isolated power supply. Everything on your roofline is low-voltage. No electrician or electrical permit is needed.
No breaker panel work. No new dedicated circuits. No conduit. No electrical permit. The system uses an existing outlet and does not modify your home's electrical infrastructure.
The control box includes fuse protection and automatic short-circuit shutdown. Each individual LED puck has its own surge protection to guard against Calgary grid fluctuations during Chinook storms.
The control box uses fire-resistant, temperature-resistant materials. The 24V LED pucks run cool to the touch. Zero fire risk. No heat damage to fascia or soffits.
